A proven system
To know exactly how big your feet are, we will send you a special step foam in advance when you order. When you step into them, a stress imprint of your feet is made, which gives us all the important information we need to send you your Runnertunes in the appropriate size. The only thing you need to do for this is to send your print back to us.

Neutral setup
Our goal was to develop a running shoe that supports and guides the runner, but does not force a new running style on him. Recent scientific studies have shown that overcorrection using strong supination and pronation supports in the midsole can have negative effects on running performance. For this reason, an absolutely neutral design of the sole was important to us, which means that no supports made of materials of higher Shore hardness on the outer / inner edge of the shoe can influence the running behavior – in the worst case negatively. Also with regard to the heel drop (height difference from heel to ball of the foot), less is more for us.

Low construction and low heel crack
In the running shoe sector, midsoles are now again usually built very solidly in order to generate extra cushioning through large-dimensioned cushioning elements in the heel area. However, this high sole design also causes an unfavorable leverage ratio. The center of gravity is shifted further and further upwards, which brings with it a risk of twisting and thus a heavy load on the ligaments. For this reason, we build our running shoe bottom as flat as possible with a 9 mm drop. By using a very high-quality and extremely resilient EVA compound, we were able to achieve optimal cushioning in the process.

Feedback to the runner and variety for the feet
Running is a nature experience but in recent years it has degenerated more and more into a technology craze. Massive soles separate us further and further from the ground. This is not in line with our philosophy. Our thin outsole combined with the excellent cushioning midsole allows you to feel the ground – in a comfortable way. Changes are reported back to us. Knowing what is happening below us without having to look automatically gives surefootedness. We call this ground control. In addition, this provides a healthy change for our feet. They have to adapt to constantly changing conditions, which means that many different muscle groups are used and trained, which in turn benefits performance and coordination.

It’s all in the mix – abrasion-resistant and grippy
We are very proud to have found an outsole that offers a high level of grip despite its low profile. The material mix makes the difference – we use real rubber for the outsole. Rubber is vulcanized rubber. This natural material is expensive but the advantages over synthetic materials are without alternative: high slip resistance with simultaneous abrasion resistance. Because we process the outsole continuously, i.e. we do not glue on any tread islands, the contact surface on the ground is maximized and thus also the slip resistance. At the same time, the pressure is also distributed over a larger area, which reduces wear compared to small tread islands – the sole runs longer.

High adaptability
Unlike traditional foamed cushioning materials, our Skin material has skin-like properties and moves with you. In addition, due to its special cell structure, it is able to permanently adapt to the contours of the foot. As a result, the athlete can expect a running shoe that fits like a second skin after a short period of wear. The outstanding cushioning and conforming effect of the Skin material is also particularly evident in the tongue construction. Due to the high resilience, we can use a smaller thickness of the material, which on the one hand reduces the weight

but at the same time the degree of adaptability to the instep is increased enormously. The tongue fits perfectly to the contour of the foot.

Clever design for more comfort
We have often heard that runners have problems with the tongue of their running shoe because it is too long at the upper end and thus rubs in the crook of the foot. Therefore, we have made the upper part of the tongue pad concave, so that the tongue can not press into the crook of the foot. Especially for long-distance use, this provides a noticeable gain in wearing comfort.

Higher accuracy
There are no universally valid shoe sizes worldwide. There are various sizing systems that differ in terms of length per size increment. Almost all running shoes are based on the US sizing system, which is designed to jump 4.23 mm per half size. However, this is too imprecise for us. That is why we follow the European size system, where a half size means a jump of 3.33 mm. 0.9 mm difference per half size between the two size systems does not sound much in absolute terms. In relation to each other, however, our size gradation brings almost 20 percent more accuracy in the fit compared to other running shoes.

Toe box with enough space
When designing the last of our Runnertune running shoes, we put a lot of thought into how best to translate the needs of the human foot into a last shape. That’s why we didn’t make the last pointed in the toe area, just to make the shoe more fashionable. A running shoe is a tool that must be suitable for the foot and provide the necessary space for the foot to develop its full potential. Our last shape prevents toes from being compressed and the toe box is designed to be sufficiently large, minimizing the risk of blue toes.
